The Evalyn Sadlier Jones Branch of the Sarasota Family YMCA recognizes Ernie Oriente as the Service Award volunteer of the year (http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20081207/ARTICLE/812070340)

"...Oriente accompanied Hilferding on a trip to Prague, Czech Republic, for the YMCA European Alliance, where he taught boxing and speed bag training.

"Ernie paid his own way and worked 12 hours a day," Hilferding said. "He really is a bear of a man, and he embodies 100 percent of the philosophies that the YMCA promotes."
