Hi, first of all, thanks to Alan for putting up great info here and www.speedbagcentral.com.
I just started hitting the speed bag at my gym in July, a month after they put it up. Now I can do about 11 of the 24 techniques pretty well, and 8 others at least a couple of times.
I'm always looking for new things to try, and I was wondering about strikes from other martial arts, for example, karate chops. A quick web search didn't turn up anything. I've been trying chops, (with middle 3 fingertips aligned) both moving my forearm in an elliptical pattern, like an FCP, and also more of a straight back-and-forth snapping motion, which somehow feels a little better, maybe because it is more like the actual martial arts technique.
I was also going to ask about backfist or backknuckle, then saw it described in the thread on "21 Combinations". I've tried it, and it seems to me it can fit in combinations in the same place as FCP - just lower the elbow and rotate the wrist 1/4 turn.
For example,
L-FSP'''L-FCP'''L-BKNL etc.
Thanks,
Jim
