Good day,. just wanna say i love this forum, been checking it out for a few weeks now.
I just started speed bagging about a week ago.I was hoping for a semi quiet set up. so i have a heavy bag/speedbag stand. because of roommates.
anywho, it came with a chain link swivel. problem is I find it kinda noisy. Thinking about switching to another swivel and also prob another speed bag as well.
most i see have a leather strap on top, as the one i got has a metal loop.
The brand name shows "Ultimate" thinking now it might stand for "Ultimate POS"
in the pic, the top part hangs down a bit and i think adds to the noise it makes (hits up at times).
Not even sure what online store i should shop at. I'm in Canada.
might just use ebay though.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Welcome to the Forum! It is always great to get some new folks involved.
You've got a different kind of bag than most. I have seen these bags with the metal attachment ring on top but never hit one. I think they are rare in the speed bag world, for almost every brand and company I've seen and used have an leather attachment loop, which to my mind would be quieter than the "metal on metal" you have there.
As far as swivel noise, I think most of yours is due to the metal attachment ring on the bag. Put a bag with a leather attachment loop on this Everlast top professional chain link (http://store.titleboxing.com/titleboxing-everlast-spdbagacc-proswiv-ets.html) or this Title Delux Pro (http://store.titleboxing.com/dps-ez.html) and you will have a quiet setup, as least as speed bag goes. Actually, from what I've "heard" from others, most of the U-bolt model swivels (http://store.titleboxing.com/speed-bags-platforms-swivels.html) are fairly quiet.
We've got a few canadians here that can help you with equipment up there, and Title boxing (http://store.titleboxing.com/info.html) also sells up there. ( go to bottom of that last link..) as well as Rival Boxing (http://www.rivalboxing.com/e/customerservice-e.html). Title boxing also sells the Rival Speed Bags (http://store.titleboxing.com/rival-precision-speed-bags.html).
Good luck with your set up and training.

hey man i live just outside of toronto and the only place i can find one around here was walmart, national sports, or sports chek. but if u want a quality one i wud suggest Rival (http://www.rivalboxing.com/e/home.html) they are based out of montreal and i really like there bags...also no duty if you go to the US websites u end up paying tones when it gets to ur house. but if ur just starting out the vinyl everlast from the stores above will be fine for now but u will want a genuine leather one soon after you start bagging.

Just wanna say, thanks very much for all the info.
I got myself a 8x5 ringside with leather strap, loving it.
Going to try the Rival 9x6 soon.
