View Full Version : Several Bag Gloves Candidates - Hard Choice!

Hi all,

Looking for my first pair of bag gloves - may eventually own several. Choices are tough and I could use a little guidance.

Money does matter and the limit is $85 since it's my first pair (but feel free to comment on the Everlast Protex2 or Protex3 if you feel that they are worth the extra spend).

I won't lay down any other parameters so the conversation is wide open. The reasons behind a suggestion are what would be the most helpful (that's why I'm asking but if you've had a pair for a while and are just plain happy with them, that sort of commentary would even be helpful).

Thanx in advance to anyone who puts in their 2.

I'll only be purchasing from Title, so keeping the list to their inventory would be very helpful. For me it's not financially justifiable to drop a bundle on the most expensive gloves such as Reyes, Winning, Grant or the like just yet but maybe some day.

I need XL size - especially since I will be wrapping with Mex 180 handwraps. They have to be at least medium quality gloves ($50 or more). Cheap gloves are no good to me since they don't provide enough hand protection and wrist support. They also have to be leather as well as Hook-and-loop rather than lace-up.

Here is the Title Heavy Bag Gloves Page:

The ones I am considering are (from lowest price to highest):

http://store.titleboxing.com/rival-super-bag-gloves.html $60
http://store.titleboxing.com/titleboxing-gel-world-bag-gloves.html $60
http://store.titleboxing.com/platbagglov.html $60
http://store.titleboxing.com/title-platinum-ultimate-bag-gloves.html $70
http://store.titleboxing.com/titleboxing-rival-ultra-bag-gloves.html $75
http://store.titleboxing.com/title-platinum-bag-gloves.html $80

Thanx,

~HobbyBoxer~

All gloves are good choices...I wouldn't recommend dishing out the extra cash on the Everlast gloves. Quality and craftsmanship is spotty from what I have heard/seen from them. We recently just received:

When I was in the market for bag gloves I tried on a few Rival gloves which were great quality but were a little big in the wrist for me (not the biggest arms in the world) and a few Title gloves (the Gel and Platinum Gloves for $60) and went with the Gel ones. They fit awesome, had great knuckle protection (more than the Rival) and the best wrist support of the I tried. After seeing/trying on the new gloves that came in for the holidays I wish I could have also had those to choose from at the time, but who knows...I probably would have never decided. Long story short...I personally like the Title Gel gloves and any of the Platinum ones.

Top 3 no specific order:

i have these in my lap right now and they are awesome. I got them a few days ago and they offer excellent thumb protection, are built like a tank and are easy to get on and off alone with practice. Ive been using them hard and the threads look great and just feel like they are well made.

I would love to invest in some more bag gloves, but I'll stick with the Everlast 16oz training gloves that I have for now. Maybe in the future when I'm making a bit more scratch, or next year's tax return lol.

If I had money to burn, my choice would be the first gloves you showed, Tuf-Wear. I just like their quality and soft nice-feeling leather. Maybe some day.

Most other gloves I tried are too stiff for my liking and I don't like breaking in shoes nor gloves.

As I said before, I'm really happy with my Everlast tarining gloves (http://www.everlast.com/prodinfo.asp?number=EVVTG). But that's only cuz I don't have the $$ to burn. Title and Everlast both make quality products so if I had extra money, I would go with:

http://store.titleboxing.com/title-tuf-wear-super-bag-gloves.html, for the money

http://store.titleboxing.com/platbagglov.html, interesting concept at a decent price

http://store.titleboxing.com/titleboxing-rival-ultra-bag-gloves.html, wouldn't mind trying out Rival products, wish these were cheaper.

I hope this was helpful, good luck!!

met, I keep on looking at those Tuf-Wear gloves. I guess if I keep looking long enough I'll break down and just order them. I man could only resist so long.

Reading forums, the names of the gloves that come up the most for top quality are Cleto Reyes and Grant. All at a cost though.
