Yeah, it's kind of puzzling. As has been discussed at this forum, if you find a bag you really like, you should stock up. Other great bags have disappeared forever. I just ordered another one of these, maybe should buy a case, haha.

skunk said they didnt really discontinue it they just want to raise the price because of the demand.I guess since everlast and title split up the bags are harder to get.
I wouldnt mind trying a bag from every company out there and see what i like best.

For those of you who are interested, the Title gyro 8x5 is as small as the everlast 6x4. I didn't give the title bag a steller review at first, but after being broken in it has turned out to be a very good bag.

A forum member was told by the folks at Everlast last year that their pro line of bags was being discontinued. The Everlast site says of the 6x4 "This item is no longer available". If it has been discontinued, WalMart's supply will likely not be "Everlasting" unless they have some special arrangement to continue to sell this. Maybe Everlast will bring it back by popular demand?

All I can say is that I can't complain about the price, and am glad I got a few. There are other small bags that are also nice, but the Everlast xs is a keeper.

I just ordered one from the full contact store online today. Its a Candian site but ther in stock. I almost got the reyes but they only had 9-6 and claimed the everlast 6-4 was faster. Having seen many Everlast metal ball hooks in varying states of wear, I can say the Watkins will probably wear out over time, but I bet it will take YEARS.

It takes more effort to go fast on a B/H.... you will likely find that to be the case going from either u-bolt or chain to B/H of any type (metal, cup, or plastic). It's not that the B/H isn't capable of going fast, it just takes more effort I think. The upside is the way it handles side punches much better.

At the end of the day, a swivel is just a swivel and they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I've not used the cup style B/H for any huge amount of time but many people say they wear out very, very quickly.

Fast rebounds are what I am not getting. I have to have it on the hard side to get consistently quick rebounds.

I always overinflate them a bit just for the xtra speed. and deflate after the beating because the warm air expands it. One thing i was just wondering. everyone speaks highly of the everlast 6-4. Also they speak highly of the title 5-8. I hav the title 5-8. I like it. How does it stack up to the everlst xs ? ( which i hope to hav on Wed.):)

I have two everlast size xs - the black and yellow one I bought from walmart and a black one I bought several years ago from everlast.com. The black one is a better bag (softer leather and faster). The black and yellow one has leather that could stop a bullet (very tough!!). The rebounds on the yellow/black are not terrible, but I was a little disappointed when I first used it. Now almost 6 months later, the black and yellow is broken in and although not as fast as the all black it is a bit quicker than it was at first. Give it time to break in and it should turn out to be a pretty good bag.

Also, if you want speed use a swivel designed for speed. The black and yellow on the u-bolt and chainlink has pretty good speed now. It also hits nicely on the plastic ballhook, although not as fast but nice hitting experience nevertheless.

Also, I would never dream of shaving down the seams - just beat them down.

Ill giv it 1 or 2 weeks time if i still dont like it mabey ill find a different home for it. I dont giv a crap about longevity of the bag I want fast. The guy I talked to on the phone said it was faster then the cleto 9-6 (or 6-9 ?.) Its Not. I know becuase i had one. I Hate liars. and on scisers video u can see the cleto was way faster. but that was also a 5-8. Id take that anyday over the black and gold 6-4. even the 6-9 cleto. they didnt hav cleto 5-8 in stock just 6-9 and everlast 6-4 suposedly was faster. I didnt see what was so pro about it. pro salesmanship is more like it. I usualy use a chainlink. But i did order the watkins ballhook its on its way in the mail. My black and gold 6x4 Everlast bags from walmart are a little hard and slow... All the ones I've previously were already broken in. I think that's the trick. Shaving the seams like Skunk makes sense cuz you are getting to the thick of the matter quicker. So, unless Everlast is using a different leather than the past, all these 6x4 bags need to be beaten in a bit....
Skunk would know if they are coming out of the box feeling different than they were years ago....

Give it some time brother. I didn't like them that much to begin with either, but it grew on me. The fully broken in ones seem to work better than the stiff right out of the box brand new ones. Plus it's the official bag of the speed bag porch, so if you ever end up there, you wanna be expert level on this particular bag.

That one for sale on ebay actually is the fastest bag I own. However, it is too big for my taste. It has a new Title bladder in it, which is resposible for the increase in speed. Perfect rebounds, also.

I know the feeling!! My wife always gives me hell whenever a new speedbag arrives at the doorstep. But all I have to do is remind her about all the Coach purses she has sitting in her closet. She has her bags, and I have mine.

So I got the Everlast xs 6x4 (2 of them) today. Wow, it's no smaller than my other bags, although a bit heavier and thinner. I took a few pictures on our Piano with a ruler behind them, and also measure the belly area. Pics below:

Picture 1: Both bags are about 7-3/4 inch tall. If you check where the swivel attachment would rest (green line) you will see a slightly higher set for the Title bag. This would give the Everlast about 1/4 inch or less length swing arc, top to bottom. (a teenie bit shorter swing arc).

Picture 2: The Red Title bag (17-1/2 in) belly is almost half a panel thicker around the belly than the everlast (16-3/8 in). To me this means the fatter bag actually has a shorter rebound arc at the belly and will reach the board sooner. The thinner everlast has to go a bit further in the rebound arc to contact the board. By the time the everlast belly hits the board, the title bag is already compressing.

Picture 3: Clearly the only reason that the Title Bag is a bit longer is the extended length of the bag loop. Look at the lower green line and you will see that the top of the actual "bag" is almost an inch lower than the top of the Everlast bag.

You can debate which is "better" or "faster", for that is a matter of personal decision, but to me if the title bag had the everlast bag loop it would clearly be a smaller (shorter) and fatter bag. I wish it had the weight of the everlast since the title 8x5 classic tends to "float" a bit at near full force and could use a bit more resistance to hold the punch. I also think that one of these bags is "miss-sized" because they are clearly very close in size, way too close to warrant the 8x5 vs 6x4 difference.

I Have the yellow 8-5 title. I read or heard somwhere (probably here) that the red was quiker. The everlast is probly better for taking a good beating. and I like the narowness of it. you hav to be more precise. I practice flow and wing chun like punches on it as well. The way i train precision can count for alot. I had a bag when i was younger and it was somwhat fast. not slow about a 6 out of 10 for speed. but I could contrl it easily . So I drew a face on it with targets. like the ridge of eyebrows, a nose, and a bottom jaw line. The bag dosent twist and spin as much on a chaiin link so it worked pretty good. I didnt bounce it around everywhere or do anything really fancy. just kept it simple and effectice. 3bounce,double, rolls, elbows and headbuts. I think still simple and effective is the best way to benefit from the speedbag for reality. But now i cant stop wanting to throw other stuff in there once it gets going Lol.

Well gang, I bit the bullet and ordered one! Found one on Ebay for $24.50, free shpping. I should get it in about a week. I also went to Titlemma and ordered an Everlast 4200 for $20.00, $27.95 with shipping. Should get that about the same time. I also ordered this interval timer (http://www.gymboss.com/). I've been reading alot of good stuff about it. It's supposed to be awesome for tabata. Total spent thus far$75.35. We've given ourselves a $100.00 allowance each with our tax return. Obviously, mine's already spent. I'm also looking at getting the dvd Ong Bak 2 with Tony Jaa. The first one rocked! Can't wait for my new bags and timer!!

Yes I saw that video of Skunk also and thought how strange it was that Everlast would post a video of Skunk using an "extra extra small" speedbag that they don't even sell, a red and blue pro bag that is no longer available, and hitting on a platform that doesn't look like anything everlast sells. But maybe they are bringing the pro bags back like you say. Everlast needs to do something about their bag selection.

I agree, I have an entire boxing gym set up in my basement, all of which is equipment from everlast, Uppercut bag, heavy bag, 6 different size and shape double end bags, medicine balls, gloves of all sorts, 2 speed bag tables, with about 25 bags or so of assorted sizes, and last is a workout station, all of this I might add is in the yellow and black colors from everlast, in a nutshell I'm a die hard everlast fan, but lately I'm starting to wonder if their getting ready to go out of business with the way their product line is going, I was a lil ticked off when I called them about a 4x6 speed bag that I only had for like 2 weeks when the bag just ripped apart, I have had bags fall apart in the past, but never that fast, I bought it at a Dick's Sporting goods, and didn't have the receipt, I was told their was nothing they could do about it, needless to say, I was not happy!

I just talked to Everlast, turns out they have a bunch of XS bags left, 50 red and black, 50 black, and 300 black and gold... of corse they are still charging $50. a bag, but i'm sure over time they will hit the closeout page and be way cheaper, and your gunna have to call in your order instead of using the web, they have other size bags from that same series too... The item itself is still on the discontinued list... I told the guy that was a shame cause their are a lot of speed baggers out there who are pretty fond of the 4x6 bag, as well as a few of their other bags.... I ordered another 8 bags from the guy... I hate when a good thing comes along and then is gone forever... so I tend to buy in bulk.... or maybe it's the OCD thing, who knows!!

It would if I could keep my dad away from them, he barely ever goes to the basement, but when he does he hits what ever bag I leave hangin there... I have to post pictures of what he did to one of my bags, it looks like somebody stuck a grenade inside it... he might be gettin old, but he can still hit like a champ, I tried to tell him that why I have the bigger bags, the 8x5s and 11x7s and what not, but he never listens... ha ha

Here is the new Title Platinum bag. It is very small. The 4x6 is literally 4x6 unlike the popular everlast bag. Fingers fist would dwarf the size of the 4x6 - maybe even the 5x7.

It seems like it's "slick", I've found bags like that to be not knuckle friendly, but I'll reserve judgement until i try one out.

It seems like it's "slick", I've found bags like that to be not knuckle friendly, but I'll reserve judgement until i try one out.

I've also found "slick" shiny bags to be pretty cheaply made and ultimately don't hold up well. I recently bought a couple of the titleboxing Pro Gyro's (http://store.titleboxing.com/title-gyro-balanced-speed-bag.html), due to a few member reviews, and will wait to see how they react. I'm hoping they react like their distance gyro cousins from Everlast. I played with the idea of this new black and grey shiny bag but decided against it.

I also picked up a "bunch" of XS everlast black-yellow 6x4's, not because I like the bag that much, but I couldn't resist the price, which I can't list but was a steal for a decent bag. I've been hitting one of these lately and don't quite see the fascination for it is no smaller than the title classic 8x5 although it's a bit heavier. It has a deeper "thud" on the rebound but I attribute that to the material and weight.

It is a slick - vinyl like cover. Going from memory the 5x7 is about the size of the bag Skunk was hitting in the video you posted. I haven't hit a bag with a covering like this but I can imagine I'd end up with rug burn like marks on my knuckles.

I have the Title pro gyro size 8x5 and it is nothing like the old everlast gyros. My title pro gyro is a decent bag, but it is heavy and a little too slow. The way the leather feels is nothing like the everlast gyros (4204, 4200).

Also, I too don't see the fascination with the current yellow and black size xs everlast pro. My black everlast pro size 6x4 that I bought several years ago is a different story, though. I bragged about that bag when I first got it, but on deaf ears I guess. The current 6x4 is decent, but you guys should of bought these bags several years ago and maybe all black.
