"Classic" tabata consists of 8 sets of 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest.

For examples of Tabata workouts, see these links:

The latest version of the timer has a "tabata" mode built in. Simply open the page ( http://www.speedbagforum.com/timer ) and click "Tabata" from the Saved Options list.

To use the timer:
1. Set "Round Length" to 20
2. Set Warn At as desired (none or 10 seconds work well for Tabata)
3. Set "Rest Length" to 10
4. Click "Start"

The timer will then proceed , once you have completed 8 rounds you are done :)
