Yes I have one on my back porch. It is a lot like and upside down speed bag. The recoiling action is similiar to the rebounds of the speed bag. You can count the recoils like rebounds, you can move all around it and it is great of roundhouse kicks and hook kicks. I really like it.

        speed bag and martial arts

I have studied several styles of Martial Arts in the past, including Yoshikai Karate, Hapkido and Taekwondo. I was in Hapkido and Taekwondo through most of the 1980's and achieved 1st degree Black Belt in 1989. I was ready to test for BB in Taekwondo about a year later, but under circumstances of the time made the school close, and I never followed up on that.

As a "youngin" in Jr. High and High School, I spent a lot of time in the Seidman youth Center in Grand Rapids Michigan. There was a boxing club in that location. I did not box at the time, but that group produced many regional and state champions. The greatest member of that group was the late, great Buster Mathis, who went on to fight both Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in world title matches. Buster lost them both, but was a friend to me and my family.
