Anyone ever used this ? Never thought of the possibility of using steel...

No personal experience with it. Just looking at the construction in the picture, I'm thinking it has some board movement, since the top metal sleeve system has to have a little play to let the (sliver) vertical pole of the board to fit through the (black) metal bracket.
and the metal rebound surface looks really thin. Thin normally doesn't normally equate to good on a rebound board.
It's not very aesthetically pleasing either...

Exactly: Very sterile looking. No personality.

I dunno. I think it looks kind of nice. I prefer wood, but that's me. I built mine out of plywood.

I'd love to see some pics. Can you post some?

I was actually considering building one out of concrete and suspending it from the ceiling somehow. Maybe that would be quieter. The wall that my platform is fastened to is just an uninsulated garage wall and bangs like a drum. According to the neighbors it shakes their living room windows. I guess it'll give me an excuse to insulate that wall, anyway. I like my neighbors, and I want them to continue to like me.
