Does anyone know how a butcher block of Beechwood would hold up as a speed bag platform? E-bay has BUTHER BLOCK TABLE TOPS

It's a nice hardwood, but not particularly dense. It will be significantly harder than pine and it's a good price. It is well suited for a speed bag drum.
