I made a slip bag out of an old extra large speedbag shell. I stuffed it with about 20 lbs of ankle weights to keep it from flying around too much. I like the fact that it is heavy enough to hurt if it makes contact which keeps me on my toes. Working it is a bit more physically demanding than the speedbag and more aerobic than my punching bag. Great defensive tool!

I always wondered how to use one of those. Never tried it.

I'm really a novice at it yet. My main goal is of course evading the bag, but I'm also trying to change angles on the way up. I wasn't trying to punch it so much, it's really solid, but you know how hard it is to NOT punch a bag!
By the way thanks for the message and generosity. If I can reciprocate let me know.

Cool beans senor. I'd love to see you do work on the cornbag, or bolsa de frijoles, as mr. BillyMack likes to call it. Don't sue me if I steal some of your style...

I can't get this video to load...oh well...
hey I am planning to make maize bag...I have an old vinyl Everlast speedbag that I can use - I prefer leather - but this is an extra - so it gets sacrificed. I will not be using a platform for it ...so it will hang from my ceiling beams. i plan to make it heavy enough so it does not hit the ceiling, and I won;t hit it too hard....
is this a recipe to breaking my hands ? i figured the target practice would be good - I am getting better at my double end bag too...

I think it takes a lot of maize to fill this bag... (http://www.jimbradley.com.au/html/s13_shopping/view_product.asp?id=3351&nav_cat_id=7&nav_top_id=Shop2)

While browsing at Title, I was looking at a slip bag. At a price of 20 bucks, I thought that even if this isn't something that I'd use very often, something discouraged me. Apparently, my fascination has gotten so bad with boxing workouts, that the roles have reversed. What is my problem that I'm debating on buying a bag that hits me! It sounds like a Yakov Smirnoff joke.
I saw some of HMP's videos, and now I want one. :)
