I don't know if having "less padding over the knuckles" is a such a good idea.
I'd rather pay more for protection, than expose my hands to injury for less money.

of course, the doctor bills for a hand specialist may make up for the difference in price.

Yeah veggie I agree with Alan. You wanna get some gloves with extra padding even if they're a bit heavier, the extra weight will help conditioning. I have two pair of the mexican style Ringside 16 ounce gloves and along with the mexican handwraps they protect your hands while allowing for max power. I also have the mexican style headgear by fight gear...notice a pattern?;)

My main gloves are worn out inside and I'm thinking of a new pair and have eyeballed these more than once. Let us know what you think if/when you get them.

FWIW, I bought a pair of Title GEL gloves and they were great for about six months and then the gel inside started breaking apart. They still look fairly new outside, the only wear on them is on the thumbs and first knuckle from when I do pushups between sets during my rest period.

I too have a pair of Everlast gloves, even though my hands are large, the padding over my striking point of contact was not stable. I tossed those aside for some Title gloves which were a big improvement but since then my training partner has somehow made them his:confused:
Since I am now using a water bag I'm not so focused on the weight of the gloves, I believe 14 ounce gloves will suffice, my main concern is fit.
I'm ordering the Rivas gloves today;)

Trust me, I did more (I was prone to screwups back in the day) than my share of pushups in my 15 years in the Army, specifically Basic Training, AIT, and OCS. I should have a huge chest and triceps! Not that either are small, but good god, I've done thousands upon thousands of pushups in my Army career.

I should have pushed Ft. Jackson, Ft. Benning, Ft. Sill, and Camp Blanding, FL a few feet myself.

Not exactly, I started out as a Unit Clerk but got tired of being left in the orderly room when the unit went out in the field. I got into the FDC section and discovered I loved the FA and went to OCS and FA OBC.

I did my last 10 years as a Redleg Officer though.

I always thought the # 1 Cannoneer had the best job, you guys got to sit down (at least on the 8 inch SP M110) and all you had to do most of the time was worry about deflection and be ready to fill in for the crew chief. And you got to be an E5 to do it!

#1 on a 155mm SP did all the fun stuff for less pay: Load the weapon and pull the lanyard (all while in the standing position). Was the designated driver too.

You used a lanyard??:D j/k, I know you're always supposed to but I've pulled many a firing mechanism without one.

p.s., I kept the lanyard from the last 8" gun that I pulled and it was the last 8" round fired from my last 8" Battery. They decommissioned the 8" and converted us to MLRS. I have that lanyard hanging on the framed Battery Guidon that the guys signed and gave me when I left that Command. It was pretty cool and those two items are probably my most treasured possessions....
