EO has earned the right to hit whatever bag he wants. I know he likes those ringside bags and that's fine. Tell him I said Hello and I hope I can see him again soon.

Hey Tstein3233. Yes, I think it would make an excellent speed bag platform. In fact we have a few members that made butcher block rebound boards and they love them. I haven't hit one personally, but I'd never argue with the butcher! I'd say: Go for it!

    Alan,
Hi there...quick question please. Would a maple/walnut blend 24" butcher block make a good speed bag platform?

Hi, great site you have here. Just started bagging a couple of weeks ago. Bought your book (before I saw the member discount). Well worth the money though. Its going slow but steady. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all help in getting me started. Your videos are amazing, I never realized what could be done on the bag.

Hi Tim. I wish I could offer some reliable referral but I can't at this time. I don't know of any ballhook outlets right now. This forum has a member (jumpcannon) that was making an awesome BH, but his job changed and he is traveling a lot on the railroad and not home long enough at any one time now to spend his home time making swivels. The only online source for ballhooks is extremely unreliable for ordering and "we" (forum) no longer recommend them because you'll get 6 months of excuses about "back order". Other than those locations and don't know of any place except ebay, which has a ballhook or plastic ballhook for sale about 2 or 3 times a month. Good luck, and tell EO hello for me! Hope his NJ trip went well.

Hey Alan, we've communicated some via email over the years...I'm a friend of Ernie's in Florida...hope you're well!
The preference for ball-hook swivels is strong but availability of good ones is low. Any thoughts on ball-hook that ONE can actually buy, or alternatives...I need a new swivel!
    Regards, Tim

    Hi Jimmy,

Yes, walking your hands around the bag looks and sounds complicated by you CAN do it by learning one punch at a time! It's not a race so don't stress on how long it takes. Then again, it may all fall into place very quickly for the more you know the faster you learn new stuff. keep punching! Alan
