    Check this out

Hello, Just bought this for 20$ can any one help date this? The bag is a everlast brown 4210, I bought it for the swivel but the bag looks cool. If it is very old will the bag be still be any good? Thanks

The bladder may need replacing, but otherwise it should be ok, unless it's got holes or a rip in it or something like that.

That was a pretty good deal... the swivel alone would have made it worth it... where'd you get it? Ebay?

Found it in a search for everlast 4440, came up 44440

      I hope it's reputable?

The description said all parts were new and never used.

I've seen lots of RED 4210's but never a brown 4210. That must be a classic, especially with that box the swivel came in. If it's original, I haven't seen one of those in many years.

Like TIM mentioned, the bladder may be a concern. I suggest you air it up a bit mushy at first and don't strain it by overinflation. Start out hitting it easy, and don't pound on it for a while. See if holds air for a few days without leaking. And check the bags for any bubbles or bulges.

Good luck. Looks like a great deal.

Looks to be in really great shape. Probably from he early 60's judging from the logotype and color.

Just got my package today and some interesting stuff....

The swivel is different than the any everlast metal ball & hook I've seen on the net...as I don't own one yet.

It's much more like the watkins swivel...the ball is totally round.
The action is REALLY nice MUCH better than the watkins from-speed to basic action, very very easy to keep going...

The hook is small & will barely take an everlast bag strap & I could see the bag flying off if not taped closed when at speed.

The hook is smaller than today's plastic ball & hook I've been using...

The Flange is a little more like a cast iron plumbing fitting...

The bag is sick it smells like an old leather coat, & really soft...the valve on the bladder is no good and it was stitched into the bag where it would be glued today...I'll post a pic when I get a new bladder in it, I doubt I'll use it much when I get a new bladder in it....it's just too nice of a piece to beat on...

I attached some picks of the swivel...

Interesting. I've got a few bags I can barely get on and off a new style metal ballhook! Can't imagine using an S hook that small.

Let's see some pictures of that bag

Is it just me or does that swivel seem bent? Pic #2 of the brown 4210 in Murph's last post seems to show the bottom of the swivel protruding outward and unaligned from the rest of the swivel. I wonder if someone was trying to manipulate the swivel in a way to either open it up more for larger straps or bend in a shape to prevent the bag from flying off?
