    uneven speedbag shape

I have two Title Classic red bags. One is the 5 x 8 and the other the 6 x 9. After going through hitting sessions with them both, it occurred to me that the 6 x 9 gave me more mis-hits. Just yesterday this happened again and I took off the 6 x 9 and put on the 5 x 8 and noticed how much easier it was to hit doing the same routine.

Anyway, just now I took two tall right angles and positioned them to go match up to the widest part of the bag which is seam to seam at the fat part of the bag. So with six seams, I’d rotate the bag on the table between the two right angles that should yield equal spacing between all the seams.

The 5 x 8 had all the seams within 1/16 of an inch but the 6 x 9 had a set of seams that gave a big ¼ inch gap compared to its other seams.

So, if you’re having trouble with a particular bag, check how even the shape is.

I have noticed this with bags also. The only bags that I have that I think are pretty even and balanced are my title 8x5 classic and my everlast xs. And those are the only two bags I have that I enjoy hitting. Weird...

That is a good observation. All bags are not created equal. Every Bag has it's own personality to shape, feel and rebound. Sometimes it take a while to reveal itself, but if you hit on one long enough, you'll find it.

Lately it seems (or seams, as the case may be...) that certain brands will be predictably mis shaped, out of round or off size. That indicates poor quality work, poor quality control and management that accepts both.

I've noticed this as well on my red title bag.
