Bladder Popped - New bag or new bladder?

I was hitting my 1st and only bag (Everlast Te:m) this evening and it popped during my session.

I unlaced the bag and saw a hole at the top of the bladder. I've seen some threads mentioning bladder replacement. Can this be done for all types of bags?

More than likely I'm thinking about getting a new bag as well as a replacement bladder for the Everlast bag as a backup bag.

I see in Ralph's Ringside and Cleto threads that he has bags available. Are there any significant differences between the two brands?

I've learned some tricks and am still craving to learn more bag tricks but I still want to keep the bag at a decent enough size that I can continue to get a good workout on it. Any suggestions as to size and brand and/or what to look for in a bag that allows for a good workout as well as creative hitting?

If I need to go with something locally store bought because of price what are the best options?

    Thank you.

Some people have had luck with using a bicycle tire patch to fix holes in bladders.

I have both (bought from Ralph). THe Cleto is nicer quality and works very well, but it is more expensive. Either bag is very nice.

9x6 is a good size compromise between workout intensity and being small enough to do some neat things on it. I'd recommend that. However, you might be surprised how much effort it takes to keep an 8x5 bag moving very fast...

      Bags Bags Bags

If you do decide to buy a new bag, there's no need to spend a alot of money to get an excellent speed bag. you can get great bags from 29.99, to 39.99, and alot of the time you can get free shipping. I think i've only paid for shipping once, , or twice.

The majority of the baggers around here are hitting $30, to $40 dollar speed bags, and they are some of the best quality bags you can buy. I would just go to some of the sites you probably already have in your favorites list.
You can get most if not all these bags on Amazon dot com also, and they have free shipping deals alot of the time.

      Title boxing dot com,

      Title mma dot com,

      boxing discount dot com

You wont find any better bags than they sell on those, and other like sites. Don't let anyone tell you different.(they'll try, but just ask them to personally demonstrate, on the speed bag, how spending more money on a leather balloon will make you better at hitting it) Take a look around, and see what the really good baggers are using. most of their Speed Bags say Title, or Fighting Sports on them somewhere. or they came from a place where they are sold. These bags last ALONG TIME, I've seen bags that look to be 10 years old, or older. and they still look good, and work great.

Thanks Tim. I'm going to get a bicycle repair kit and see if that works.

Funny you should mention that last statement. I saw a thread posted by Zaza about a bag that was on sale. Black/Silver xs and xxs. I was curious about it since it was so small and wanted to see it in action. I did a search engine video search with the bag name. One of your videos popped up. I think you were demonstrating the xs. Stating the obvious here but...you....are..a..technical....wizard! I swear watching that brings instant smiles and laughter of amazement.

I can't even fathom the double elbow strikes and other things happening in that video. That last bit with what I'm calling the Roadrunner roll was insane. I was sucking wind just watching the "circle punch" and "split fist".

Thank you very much, ebozyn. Great info and help.

This is definitely more my budget and it's good to know that these are quality bags.

Looks like Title mma has free shipping. The other sites shipping are very reasonable.

I'm trying to choose from either the Title or the Fighting Sports.

Thanks ventanakaz. If what you say is true that the Everlast bag is 6x9 (I see it listed as 7x10 on a site but don't know if that is the spec for the Large or the Medium), then I thought about getting a 5x8. That way if I can patch the Everlast, I'll have two different size of bags.

What are you alls thoughts on the Title (yellow) 5x8 versus the Fighting Sports (white) 5x8?

I also see a Title Mex on sale. Just curious as to what you think about the Title "Gyro". Generally speaking is this gimmicky or do baggers feel a difference.

I really like the Fighting Sports bags (my 2-cents). 6x9's and 5x8's are my size of choice.

When you order, get a few replacement bladders and fix that bag you flattened. You want to have at least a few bags around so if you pop one, you can just keep on hittin'!

Popped bladder... or Speed Bag Opportunity?!?!?!?!

I like my fighting sports 5x8! Get a new bladder but try patching it first, always fun to fix stuff you bang around on!
