    Manditory 1st post / introduction

Glad I found this site and VERY glad Alan is associated with it.

MANY MOONS ago I bought his book (sitting beside me on my desk now - would look much better with an autograph :+) ) and video.. Actually a VHS and the book is 'first edition 1994! - yep I'm Old Skool. DVS's weren't even invented then and there is NO mention of web links in the book - but I was all over it! (does skunk even know what a VHS is!?)

I've always liked unusual stuff and this bagg'n thing was right up my alley. (back in the day I was a nationally ranked FoozBall player and in college I was a certified Frisbee master - Unusual stuff, that's me! - But always good with hand / eye dexterity)

Started working out with the 'Tape' and got pretty proficient (trouble with linking and transitions) but life got ahead of me & I stopped doing it seriously and just kinda banged on it when I had time.

Recently (1-30-12) had shoulder surgery (right shoulder / right handed!) and I can see this type of work as a very big part of my therapy. So I started looking online and, MAN! did things change.

Alan's still Alan - gifted with his hands and a caring teacher. And That Skunk dude... Holy Crap-ola!

I can't wait to get back into this - there is some true inspiration on this site and I'm gonna absorb it ALL.

    So there ya have it.
I Like the first post in 7 days rule. I am active in several forums and that's a good rule!
I'm excited to be part of this and hope to be able to give as well as get from the 'collective'

    Hey Jumbo,

thanks for the kind words. The simple way to tell if that book is from the very first printing in july of 1995 is to look at the equiment chapter. If it has pictures of Everlast equipment, than that is one of the original 1500 books printed. ($7.50 each, cash in advance..) I completely redid that chapter and made other corrections throughout for the second printing in 1997 or 98.

And the VHS tape, LOL, I sold ONE (1) in 2011 off amazon. I've got 30 or more of them left also. Guess I can put some Bar-B-Que sauce on them and eat 'em one of these days, 'cause they are not going anywere.

Either way, PM me for a mailing address and if you want that book signed I'll be happy to do it and send it back.

Great to have you here on the forum. Welcome. There be baggers here.

      Thanks for the replys.
Unfortunately, I remember 8-Tracks and ALL that stuff that 'carbon dates' me.
Alan, it DOES have pix of everlast gear - might even be book #1. Still in good shape too, used the video more than the book.
I appreciate the offer & WILL take you up on it
Can somebody tell me why most of the videos posted by 'ebozyn' are unavailable? I'm getting addicted to watching you guys - can't seem to get enough
      Thanks again, all!

Welcome on board. That's one of the aspects of baggin' that appeals to me as well - it's a niche , but it's a tight knit family at the same time.

Recently (1-30-12) had shoulder surgery (right shoulder / right handed!) and I can see this type of work as a very big part of my therapy. So I started looking online and, MAN! did things change.
I had my left worked on in Summer of '07 and quite glad I did. Life has been good since. My right is eventually going to need some fixup though, it's quite impinged.

Can you send a link to a video that is unavailable? Ebozyn would have to answer for sure, but maybe he has taken down some older videos? I'm not aware of any general technical problems that would cause this.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I'm seeing - I guess the smart thing to do would be to ask HIM, huh?
I was wondering if it had something to do with my New-ness. Some forums have rules on Noobs and posting, searching, PM-ing, etc

I think Ebozyn has removed some of his older videos... that's all. No technical problems on your side.

Hello Everybody, My names myles and am just new to this forum.I stumbled upon it accidentally while trying to find a Cleto reyes speed ball online,or as Americans call it Speed bag.
Ive been keen on the speed ball since I was a teenager but never thought I would be any good at it so never bothered.
Now I'm in my forties and since mid last year after watching ON YOUTUBE The One And only SPEED BAG SKUNK I have been going hard on the ball clocking up around 300 hours since.
I have practiced on a lot of Combos and mixing in different strikes (elbows, fist, behind the ball, fist rolls, reverse rolls, and a few other ones) and today 18 Feb 2012 I have just worked out and managed to put about 5 or 6 combos together with out missing a beat, and that's going half pace and full throttle on some.
Well thanks for listening and now I might just read a few post from other members!

HAHA..... awesome Tim! So, like most things in life, they are open to interpretation.... In music, a flatted fifth is the "devil's interval"... in classical, you aren't supposed to harmonize with fifths only.. when in the air, there are "near misses"... although to me (and George Carlin) they are "near hits".... KISS and RUSH aren't in the Rock and Roll of Fame... and on and on ...
I gotta end it with this....
When hitting that pear shaped thing attached to a swivel that hangs under a "drum", (not something that is part of a trap kit, but a different type of drum", no, not a barrel, but a "drum" above your head.... haha... remember to .....

                        HAVE A BALL!!!!!!!!!
                        thank you....

Outside of Music a "Flatted Fifth" is opening your car trunk and finding your Spare is Flat also.

..and what's worse if finding the "Flatted Fifth" immediately after finding the "flatted Fourth". Been there.

I just saw this thread and realized I'd never posted in it. I have been bagging for a couple of years, but during the year in the middle I had a neck injury that kept me from it. It's taking a long time for me to the develop skill I want, (I never was super coordinated!) but I'm getting there.

I've found bagging to be such great therapy for me. I'm able to get all the tightness out of my back after sitting at a computer all day.

I got into bagging because I found a $99 Everlast board and bag setup at a yard sale for $5. I set it up in my exercise room and got addicted. Of course, I've replaced the bag and have a Powermill swivel. The bags I have are a small Title 5 x 7, a Title 9 x 6 (which I never use, too big), and an Everlast Te:S (not sure the measurments, seems like a 6 x 9. The Everlast is my favorite, but it is starting to leak a little. I've been thinking about getting a new bag, just not sure what yet.

Nice to join you all, and I hope I can somehow make it to the Speedbag event!

                              Hey Boltbaby

I know who you feel about those neck injuries, since I've had a little down time myself due to Neck Issues.

If you're looking to change bags there are a lot of great choices. If the Title Red 9x6 is a bit too big than try the [url-http://store.titleboxing.com/title-classic-speed-bags.html]Title "Classic" 9x6[/url] which is noticeable smaller and lighter.

If you used and like the older Everlast gyro 4200, then you should like the Title gyro 9x6, which is basically the same bag.

always glad to see more ladies under the board and posting on this one!
