      By the way, the photo above was taken at Madame Bey's training camp. Fascinating story about that place for them that like history,

        I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, Paranday, and think Mme. Bey was brilliant. These characters and establishments were/are foundations taken for granted since the focus is on the stars, but I love knowing about them. During the late 1980s-early 90s I worked at the New Orleans Athletic Club. The NOAC was established in 1872, and John Sullivan trained there for the first gloved heavyweight championship. The place is rich with wonderful history never told, and I would love to write a book or at least a series of articles about it.
