    New Member - New Setup

I just built a new >30" platform out of 3/4" chip board - 3 layers glued & screwed, & sealed up with nearly a quart of Rustoleum oil based paint - gloss black-- -the paint feels & looks nice.

I've had an everlast chain-link swivel forever, then I saw the everlast U swivel at Amazon - man is that thing slow! I can still pound it but I expected my new 6x9 Title bag to be a lot faster. The U shaped "pro" model adds an inch betwen the board & top of bag, when compared to my chain link swivel. I ordered a new ball swivel from Dee earlier today.

I'm surprised about my endurance & coordination holding up as well as it has.

I mounted it below a 50-60' blue spruce pine in my back yard - works out well for both shade & rain protection, I just hope it doesn't irritate my neighbors too much.

I'm still setting the height & working on finalizing the installation, and I've sure enjoyed hitting it over the last few days.

What you need to do with the bag is order the replacement bladder from Title. All their bags come with butyl rubber bladders that are very durable, and hold air for a long time , but are not as responsive as the latex rubber bladders that they sell. If you haven't ever replaced a bladder before there are lots of posts here that will walk you through the process. It's not that difficult once you understand the sequence.

I really wasn't sure how or where I'd mount it, but I don't think I could've found a better place! I looked into bolts that were safe to screw into trees but then I came up with this idea. I'm still working on it and it's almost there.... just need to drop it a couple more inches.

Hey Dutchman do you know if Everlast sells replacement bladders?

        Thanks

Thanks! Hopefully I can rehab my old Everlast 4214 with a new bladder--I've only started reading up on this.... I bot the title bag in 2013 but just got around to setting it up last week.

Until fairly recently they did, but it appears that they no longer offer them at the retail level. For a 4214 a Title SBBR REG (6" x 9") (7" x 10") should do the trick.

Great set up! I love the outdoor baggin' and need to build something myself (although I already have 3 platforms throughout the house). Welcome to the forum. I'll be looking forward to seeing some video of that set up in action.

Just in case, here's a video walking you through a bladder change:

... I wonder if you're going to get pine needles down your back once you start pounding away?

Not yet! Only 3+ hours so far. They might build up on top. The ponderosa pines in the front yard - they'd be a lot worse.

It's nice in the rain & hot sun so far - smells good too....

My main concern is the neighbors - I don't think it's that loud I hope to avoid complaints.

I don't think rain is exactly a problem. I only mounted this Monday night (now it's Saturday morning), I've only hit it for ~3.5 hours... a few times in the rain. The lightning sent me inside once, not the water.

Got a new bag yesterday - the Title # 7 I think (black one), and I stitched up the old 7214 late last night. I don't expect my stitching will last long, & the thread I have for leather is too thick. I'll get some smaller stronger thread & I think this will be back in business!

Yeah... Good point Zaza about the pine needles.
Don't buy your speed bag from the same place you buy your tackle box.
