New bag that I have never seen before!

Well my Dad just bought me an awesome gift! He is old school, he loves sports and loves older athletes that stressed fundamentals. He loves older equipment where handmade items were not just equipment, but more expressions of the creator, and pride in craftsmanship. Well he just ordered me a handmade kangaroo leather speed bag made by John Golomb. For those who do not know, Everlast was founded by Jacob Golomb and John is his grandson. John used to run Everlast's production floor but moved on from Everlast. He currently does custom leather repairs and makes some custom leather sporting goods.

Since my Dad saw that I was really into a new hobby, he found a unique one of a kind speed bag for me. So he ordered a 6x9 Kangaroo leather bag. It's on it's way and should be here sometime next week. I'll do a good review. The price is outrageous but I can't thank my Dad enough. I think I will be afraid to hit it!

I might have to treat this bag more like a collectible than something that I will bang on all the time. But I will have to hit on it. It's crazy because I have been looking all over for a vintage kangaroo Everlast bag for a while.

This bag is going to be awesome for you. IMO, you should both hit it and respect it at the same time. Don't treat it like a collectible or museum piece. Treat it like a fun toy, but take every care so that it lasts as long as it can.

      Congrats.

I had John do some work on a vintage Everlast bag a while back. He does great work and is a stand up gentleman.
