I tried one and the ball of the ball hook is on a bearing. The ball just spins in the bearing and dosn't clink and clank back and forth like you would think how an ordinary ball hook swivel functions. I had no use for a swivel like that and returned it immediately. Looks good in the pictures but isn't a true ball hook swivel.

Do you just like the sound of click clank? Or does it not function properly like a deville?

The ball dosn't move back and forth. It's stationary. It only spins on a bearing. It's pretty much a u bolt swivel, only looks like a ball hook. Only part that moves is the s hook. Notice how the ball is seated in the mounting plate. It's on a bearing. It's bunk!

            Speedball:

You are thinking of the old ATX model, which has the same housing, but the guts were completely different. In fact, there was no ball at all, just an S-hook. You are correct that the ATX connected straight to a bearing.

The LTX is completely different. It's a true ball hook swivel and I think you would love it. I am out of stock until late January, but when I have some more I'll send you one (no charge) and you can let me know how you like it.

Great to hear. It's amazing how the "swivel" can have so many designs and details. Bags also I suppose but we don't have too many people involved in redesigning bags.

got both the devvile and ltx. i would give the deville 60% and ltx 40% in preference, the ltx is worth it s money.

Do you have a swivel you rate higher than the deville? I ask because I'm still contemplating on what to get for my first setup.

Brother the deville will be your first and last swivel !!!!!and by all means i accept to be corrected by a fellow member. But as i said i got both just out of curiosity ,i enjoy them both but the deville earned the warm spot in my heart.

as we always say in the sb forum ,searching and experimenting is half the fun.!!! don't be afraid to experiment.
                            you can only get better.

I was wondering if the holes in the Swiveltek match up with the Deville #13?
