Reach Striking Bags-profession and theatrical bags

    Here is a interesting find...

Searching a little speed bag history the other day and found this in a 1908 newspaper...

Reach Striking Bags "for professional and theatrical bag punchers"

    (...just for Dutchman)

This was in the same paper as the 1908 Vaudeville appearance of Milo Vagge announcement below.

5 cents admission to the the "world champion" bag punchers. Wonder what that would cost now....

(would this be a nice time travel trip...)

Great ads!The Reach bag that I have is just wonderful. It has to be at least 80 years old, the leather is glove soft, the stitching is immaculate and with the Title double end bag bladder it's really lively. I can see why they would be the choice of "Professional and Theatrical bag punchers".

This is the couple that I remember seeing as a child, introduced me to the wonderful world of the speed bag.

Great Memory. I watched the Ed Sullivan show but do not remember them.

Just lost the bladder on the Reach bag yesterday, got about two years out of it. I had wound up using an orange Title double end bag bladder in it, worked well. I think I'll try their butyl rubber one this time.

Received the Title butyl rubber bladder today. It fills the bag out nicely, hits well, not quite as bouncy as the latex, but when the bag is this big it doesn't matter that much. We'll see how long this one lasts.

That was a lucky find, reasonably priced, the leather was perfect, like it had been little if never used. It had apparently been kept in perfect storage conditions. The only thing is that it was missing the under the laces inflation tube bladder (which would have likely not able to have been used, but it would be of historical interest). I put it on the swivel once and a while, but this one is likely the oldest one in the collection, I like to treat it with some respect. Sometimes I just hang it just to look at it.....
