    Different Types Of Deville Swivels?

I certainly hope this is not an extraneous thread but I would like to know. Is/was there more than one type of the Deville swivel? I know about the #13 with the white square base but if memory serves I believe I've seen a black model as well. Am I wrong on this?

The Deville ballhook when through several "stages" of development, experimenting with Base materials, balls and S-hooks. Here are some pictures from the "MsDeville" album.

Interesting, I had not seen the A-51 before. Looks like we both went thru a similar evolution process, starting with a copy of the Everlast plastic swivel.

I didn't know about the A51. That's a good looking piece! I scored two brand new white 13's (square base) from ebay yesterday. Between those, my Arcs, Butch's SS swivel and my forza's I figure I'll have to live another fifty years before needing anything else.

How much did the Devilles sell for originally? Just curious.

I think they were $49.00 at one point.

The older metal ball hook by Jump Cannon was $60.00 but it weight almost a pound...

I purchased 1 through the Speed Bag Shack 2 1/2 years ago for $50 if memory serves.

I was hoping my $40 price for the Arc would be a good value for people while being a nice donation for my charity.

One (this one) wonders how many Deville's were made. When I first started bagging 18 months ago it seemed like everyone was looking for one and those that had one wished they had purchased two. Fortunately due to members of this forum we're sittin' perdy with great swivels.

That only worked for a board that was drilled out to sink the swivel "into" the board. Takes an real thick board.@
I think the original idea was to offer the board and swivel together. But I dont think that happened. A lot of the home made swivel and board inventions, awesome as they may be, have a very short shelf live because 8 or 10 or maybe 20 speed bag fans that want "and will pay for them" just never makes it profitable enough to maintain custom production. The speed masses never see this stuff, boxing- fitness businesses see little value in the new mousetrap, and they die. I've seen design specs and pictures and sample products for "better boards, bags and swivels" for far longer than this board has been around and not one ever lasted very long or got any mass production support.
