    Hey Dutchman,

Can you tell me what you may or may not know about Roberts speed bags?

One of the lessor known makers of the post WWII era, they offered kits much like Everlast, with a rebound ring, striking bag, mitts, and jump rope. They had a promotional deal with Rocky Marciano, which lasted until his death in a small plane accident in 1969. The company was still in business in the mid 1970's but faded from view during that period of time. I've only seen a few of the Roberts bags. They were typical of the bags furnished with the starter kits during that era, they weren't bad , but they weren't real good either. I'm haven't seen anything of theirs that could be considered a "professional" bag, doesn't mean that they didn't exist. As I recall the deal with Marciano was made after he retired, so there wasn't a real need to make a pro bag.
