I am constantly being inspired by fellow speed baggers. Especially when I can see/feel their passion for the bag.
Last month I came across a YouTube video of a Canadian speed bagger punching to "Little Bird" by Annie Lennox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ry3rZA_Sp4
Sadly, the audio to his video was removed and replaced with generic music (). Probably copyright issues. But, his comment under the video stated this:
"Six years into diabetes I am off all meds and controlling the beast with diet, cannabis and exercise."
Within minutes of watching it, I was downloading the song to my playlist and running out to the garage to punch to it and record it on video.
After uploading my video to YT, I found that it can't be viewed on my iPhone, but YT allows the audio when viewing on a computer. Go figure.
I'm trying to keep up with the beat of this song using my Fighting Sports speed bag with its original black bladder. The FS bag is heavy & does not offer a great rebound. But, it continues to be in my Top 3 List in speed bags. I got my fists tangled a couple of times and also stopped to catch my breath a few times. Not my best punch drumming — it took a few seconds to figure out the beat in the beginning — but it might be useful or inspirational to someone out there.
