    Making your own S hooks

I'm about to try this for the first time but I want to get it right, the first time. Bought a 5ft 1/4 " metal rod so I have lots of material should I get it wrong..

I assume I need a torch, a vice, (don't have a vice) hacksaw and some stationary posts for shaping. This all sound about right? Has anybody here done this before?

ventanakaz is experienced doing this, for sure. I made a few using 10 gauge drill rod, but I am not very skilled in smithing and found it difficult and took lots of time. I'm sure a proper set of smithing tools would have helped.

I want to try this as well. My previous attempts turned ugly. Used vice and vice grips.
