    Welcome to the forum!

That should be big enough for most bags (11x8 might be the largest you can go, unless you like to hit the ones that are (in my opinion) rediculously large (i.e. 13x10, etc.).

Generally speaking a bigger board is better, because it's heavier and will vibrate less. Most people (myself included) add weight even with the biggest platforms.

That should work fine. You may find it difficult for side punches eventually, but for a beginner it will do nicely and you will get alot of mileage out of it.

    That's a 10x7 and should work fine on a 24 inch platform.

I agree with Tim, if you go to the bigger bags the "belly" of the bag will extend past the edge of the platform. I have a Title 12 x 10 that I made a 36" platform for. The rebound is MUCH better than on the 24" platform due to the belly hitting where it should.

I bet the 11 x 8 wouldn't work good on the 24" platform either because you have to add in the swivel and loop length too.

        Good advice Timbo.

The only thing I would add is, if you do decide to use a larger bag on a 24" drum, say the 11x8, because this size bag will extend over the edge of your drum when in use ( it will swing a bigger arc), you need to construct your platform so the drum sits that little bit further away from the wall you intend to mount your platform to, to compensate for the bigger arc that the larger bags have

30" ... would handle the biggest practical bag. 36" might be too large, depending on how much room you have. 30" with a 50lb bag of sand on top would be about perfect, in my opinion.

The big blue Title? How do you like it? Is it a heavy feeling bag, does it take a bit of power to really make it go?

Yes sir, the big blue Title Big Bubble Bubble. I like it because it is heavy and takes more power to keep it going. When you really smack it, it moves.

                    are these balazs platforms good?
i like how they look like but are they good

or is it better to make normal platform

i'm asking because of interface area ... are these balazs style platforms making more vibration?

i hope you can understand what i mean

I'm not a speedbag guy but...
I used to do industrial mechanics.
the triangular platform will have inherently more vibration by design.
                      but thats all things equal.
steel gauge..type...etc all will make a difference..drum weight.. bag size....

I'd prefer the one on the right (no Center V ) for I like to drill the swivel holes all the way through the board and use bolts to hold the swivel. You can't do that easily with with the hanging brackets joining together over the middle of the board. I also find the wider hanging brackets resist vibration better since the attachment is over the board ends, which have no support with the center V shape.

The quality of the boards or "advancement of the workout" cannot account for the substantial price of these boards. They look great and hit great but no better than boards half their price. Some people will still pay close to $1,000.00 for a simple speed bag wall unit and $75.00 for a dress shirt.

                            ???????

I would suggest you to take a larger size than 24 which would be comfortable. If you want more idea let me know.
