    Installed threaded inserts in platform

    For some time now I've wanted an option to be able to quick swap swivels on one of my platforms. Pre-drilled my four holes to accommodate all swivels with the original standard Everlast line up (not the everlast U-bolt that doesn't line up)

    Installed the threaded inserts and can easily swap out swivels without fear of stripping. These holes line up with;

    Everlast Ball Hook and chain link
    Rusty's ARC
    Title Lightning fast swivel and many others.

    I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but I'm glad I did

      Agreed.

      You can still see some of the old holes from other swivel change outs. I'll patch those up and re-stain the board.

        I have been considering using these on my platforms. Once installed, they are great. But you have to take a lot of care installing them because the holes are pretty big.

            Rusty. those are exactly what I was looking for but after an exhaustive search at Lowes, Home Depot, Canadian Tire and Burger King I had to settle for less I can always replace the inserts but they're working great so far.

            Did you have to order those online? And I second JoMan's question..

              To be clear, I have used E-Z Lok for my drum-to-bracket mounting bolts. I have not yet used them to mount the swivel, but I will at some point. For the 10/24 machine screw size, this is the product: https://www.ezlok.com/ezknife-insert-400-3

              Notice you have to drill a 25/64" hole for the insert, so there is no going back, and you only get one shot at a good install, and you have to do it 4 times in a row. Nerve racking for me (my custom drum cost $400). I used a forstner bit to get good clean holes.

                    Did you consider, and rule out, using 10-24 T-nuts in from the top of the drum? I was thinking about doing that. I don't know anything about the EZ lock system.

                      I think E-Z Lok is a glorified T-nut.
