Geez, I can't think of her name, ....you know, the one on the pole. She came to a sporting good show I did there about 10 years ago.

I hate it when I forget names.

HAHA! Yeah, the vid went out a couple days ago and it's like at 120,000 views..
That's cool.... no speed baggin' in it though!
But I did just see The Fighter and Mark Walberg gets real good speed going with the basic "rope pull" punch. Very good movie.
Whitesnake dates begin booked in the states now.. for 3 weeks starting May 6th... mostly East Coast...
Then we will be back in ampitheaters everywhere late July through August...

**** I get a drum solo every night and I can do whatever the hell I want..
I want to incorporate the bag! But.... I need to build a freeform platform that is super sturdy and not bulky...
I am going to make this its own post as there are some seriously creative people here when it comes to this stuff....
Also, my budget is real low... But I will gladly do what I can and accommodate in other ways with tickets or backstage this or that..
Maybe a party in the creators name after a show!!!!
Point is... for all of us... it would be pretty badass to feature the bag in a rhthmic way on a stage this year... I nearly had it together with Foreigner but the stand was too heavy and clumsy and bulky and unsturdy..
Please PM if you are interested in designing this with me and we will take it from there... I live in LA...no , not Louisiana, Los Angeles ...haha...

That would be great. Burning for Baggin'.

I just don't think you are going to get the stability you need with any of the present single vertical pole setups. If you go that route you're probably can have to have some type of stabilizer straps to lock the board down to eliminate sway and vibration. Surely we have a design/fabricator that can imagine and draw up the plans for a stable unit, even if it had small stabilizing bars that attach to the rear area of the board. Hey, if a member can hand design and make the most incredible swivel in the world, (actually several members have created new worldswivels ) then I gotta believe we can get you a decent on-stage bag drum.

by the way, the picture below was made from a standard free-standing speed bag floor unit, modified by their Drum Tech crew to hold the tom's. I wish I had taken a few more closeup pictures of how they hung the swivel and connected the drums. As I remember it was very stable and the only "give" was the drum heads when the bag made contact.

Can't wait til you run through Chi-Town! Maybe this time I can hang a bit longer and have a drink with ya! I was gonna suggest some type of vertical freestanding board. I'm not much the designer of things to be designed, but I try. Yes Bigging will set you free!! Live To Bag!!

May have to move or adjust the symbols, at least for the solo part using a speed bag.

Or mount the swivel to a Gong.

I was thinking of a way to mount the swivel to the center of a kick drum I guess it is, the big one with the foot pedal. Come from the inside with a pedestal to mount the swivel to the outside and put a rubber gasket on each side of the skin to keep it from ripping then affix the drum frame to the pedestal to make it all one unit so the bag could swing back and forth to hit the skin. Maybe need to use the big drum like they use in marching bands to get a larger surface. Possible mount the back side of the drum to a thick plywood and mount the pedestal to that to extend it to the skin surface. Sorry, I don't know drum terminology.

What do ya think, AK and BT?
