    Video recorder question

    ok...i was thinking about getting a small video recorder to make videos and edit them for speedbagging, car hobby, etc.....I dont wanna drop big money on it....rather than using my camera to record a video what would you recommend? I would also like to edit it with music. Would i need editing software? what kind? User friendly is my priority! I dont want to take 300 hours to make a 10 minute vid. Something easy to use. I know you all have skills with this stuff...so any advice would be appreciated.

    What kind of computer do you have? (Windows PC or Apple)

    camcorder(this would be great):

    Software(PC):

    All this would only be around $400!

          @jumpcannon what car hobby? RC car? If RC car then I can hook you up with a key chain cam.

          If on a 'real' car then I would recommend a GoPro Hero3 here's a comparison chart apparently they have three versions of the Hero3

          if you get a Hero2 you will be below dollar wise the Sony one recommended Zaza

          but the Hero3 is close to the same price as the Sony but you would be surprised in the size and stability of this camera, I know guys that put them on RC helicopters, Quadcopters and Airplanes and it is silky smooth video and can do a bunch of other shooting modes. This is also the camera you see the guys on X Games wearing

                GoPro is a very limited camera with a fixed lens....but if that's what you're looking for (point & shoot), it works fine. I'd look at the GoPro Hero 3 Black though. GoPro makes a nice B-roll camera.

                The Sony (or any other camcorder) will be way more flexible, fits in the palm of your hand, zooms, has stabilization & takes stills too. You can mount it on your car, in your car or anywhere around your car easily.

                Better all-around camera IMHO.

                  ...or you could just stop the train at a crossing and take a camera from one of the 'trainspotters'! (we have a ton of them here....I like in a train town).

                              "Wait til this guy sees his first vagina" <---- HAHA! That guy needs to make a video of that as well and put it on YouTube.
                              To document and share that special moment with all youtubers.
                              Millions of views the first day. HAHA!

                              For his sake i hope it isn't a 1950's model, like his beloved trains.
