    Primefighter 400 Install

So before I get to posting a few lousy iPhone pics, I'll describe the install. Two members of my buddy's building crew came to do it. Both very experienced carpenters, having just framed a nearby home. You get the picture.

I used the strip of inch thick foam that came with some of the packaging and had them place it behind the 2x4's to dampen some of the sound.

It was quite difficult to drill the necessary holes into my concrete foundation wall but it got done. Unfortunately, my basement ceiling is only about 7 feet or so and once it was up, it was too low at its highest setting. They then took the drum and brackets down, drilled new holes and were able to mount the brackets higher.

Now I'm not sure if this caused what's happening, but the drum has a considerable amount of vibration. I will put a sandbag on it once I get one and hopefully that will help. Perhaps I'm a dope to expect no vibration. My Balazs has some, but this is much worse.

They also removed the swivel that came on it and put the Deville on. First time I've ever used an S hook type. Only punched for a few minutes as they are now doing other work around the house. So far so good. I like it.

I've bored you enough. Here's the pics:
    Top bracket fixed to 2x4.

Okay, I get it. BTW, I still have the Balasz set up right behind the 400. I tend to use them both as I have a Balasz swivel on it and the Deville on the 400.

Only problem is the Balasz was installed against one of my lolly columns and so makes a lot more noise through the house than the 400. My wife upstairs in the living room, though super cool and doesn't care at all, can barely hear the 400 in comparison.

Oh, as far as seeing me in action, I don't think you really do as I suck. But, ok, I'll ask my wife to video me.

Believe it or not, I finally started, and I emphasize started to get the side to side double punch after the front to back. I need a lot of practice but it is really such a good feeling to be able to do it even a few times at first after a lot of frustration.

That change over is pretty tough to learn at first. The hard part is going from the Reverse Double Punch (RDP) to the Side Double Punch (SDP) position on two rebounds. The key is the lead fist of the RDP which has to hit the bag and pass though, to the front and angling out to the side of the bag, where it will come in as the second fist of that SDP. I explain that here in this video.

                        FDP ' ' RDP ' ' SDP ' ' SDP ' ' .....repeat.

                        I explain the RDP ' ' SDP exchange 4:23

                        hope this helps.

You "hope this helps"? I wouldn't be doing any double punches, any reverse punches without your incredibly helpful videos. I do wish you'd make some new ones, with updated video equipment, perhaps even a late model iPhone, in real slow motion. Yes, I have seen a video of yours in slow motion, but it's not slow enough for some like me who is innately slow.

My only personal cell phone isn't quite that "updated" or costly.

The software I edit video's in can go waaaay slower than what is online.
But I have not shot any new speed bag video's in a while.
