So before I get to posting a few lousy iPhone pics, I'll describe the install. Two members of my buddy's building crew came to do it. Both very experienced carpenters, having just framed a nearby home. You get the picture.
I used the strip of inch thick foam that came with some of the packaging and had them place it behind the 2x4's to dampen some of the sound.
It was quite difficult to drill the necessary holes into my concrete foundation wall but it got done. Unfortunately, my basement ceiling is only about 7 feet or so and once it was up, it was too low at its highest setting. They then took the drum and brackets down, drilled new holes and were able to mount the brackets higher.
Now I'm not sure if this caused what's happening, but the drum has a considerable amount of vibration. I will put a sandbag on it once I get one and hopefully that will help. Perhaps I'm a dope to expect no vibration. My Balazs has some, but this is much worse.
They also removed the swivel that came on it and put the Deville on. First time I've ever used an S hook type. Only punched for a few minutes as they are now doing other work around the house. So far so good. I like it.
I've bored you enough. Here's the pics:
