Three movies that come to mind are:

                The Hurricane
                The Raging Bull
                and Requiem for a Heavywieght

I don't remember if there are any speed bag scenes in these movies, but I thought I'd list them to see if anyone remembers a SB scene in any of them.

I totally forgot about Daredevil!! Oh yeah! There's also a clip of Gizmo trying to hit the bag in Gremlins 2. It's a funny little bit.

I don't. Remember a film from the seventies called "WATERMELON MAN"? with the late Godfrey Cambridge? The opening scene has him hitting a speed bag.

"The Dead Pool" with Clint Eastwood. For some early stuff catch "Pittsburgh" with John Wayne and Randolph Scott. Early on in that film there is a scene were they attend a exhibition bout and an old school striking bag with a vaudeville style free standing platform is demonstated.

Do commercials count? There was a Chili's spot that had a pro boxer (James Toney?) bagging the babyribs song...anybody remember it? I was trying to find it on youtube but no luck.

De Niro seems to like the speed bag for it is in several movies with him. Another reason he is a class actor!
