Today most kids just velcro them or leave them untied. Apparently it takes too long to actually lace them and do a bow knot.

Yep, like forgetting to wear a belt so their pants fall down half way off. What we called carpenter crack they call cool.

yep !!!! but nowadays the pants are so tight that i dont even know how they get in there and they still hanging down

I buy leather boot laces. Cut the length in half and one is a perfect fit. Wrap the excess around the top, tie a half hitch and tuck them in the laces. Spray a bit of hair spray on them and they stick inside well. Plus you can trim the ends and there's nothing to fray or unravel.
