Comparing the bag to her head it's at least 16" long (maybe even 18") and has a belly of 12-14". Enormous by todays standards, but not at all unusual during the pre WWI era when the pic was taken. They are not lightweight , the leather used in them was thick and the bladders were fairly heavy rubber. You hit one of these for a couple of rounds and you'll definitely feel it.

Just go get yourself one of those Jeanne Lemar sized bags and go a few rounds a day!
We are all getting into the small bags, which is a technique in and of itself. But I wonder what it is like to try and hit the same combos and techniques on a "Lemar" sized bag. Like Dutchman says, they were heavier too. Man, that has got to be a workout.
BAG ON!

Very interesting lady and life she led.
It appears that platform is a 24". My Title 12 x 10 is on a 36 x 24" rectangular platform. I use the platform longways for a good rebound on the belly of bag, but when I tried it sideways the rebound is worse because the outline of the belly does not hit. So she is not only hitting a huge bag, but must be getting a poor rebound.

The closest thing available today are the bags that Genesport sells up in Quebec.
