That would make a great chopping block! Please post pictures when it's mounted...and do tell, what does something like that cost these days?

yemen85, that's an absolutely gorgeous looking drum. Did you buy that or make it? Are those mini box joints used to connect the boards throughout the drum?

The drum was made by Baird Bros in Ohio.
                  3" Thick X 30" Diameter Maple
                  Round Butcher Block top.
                  Top & Bottom edges eased
                  Price $281.25
Weight is 66lbs with packaging. It's about 25 lbs heavier then the one I have already which is 2" thick. It may be a little pricey for some, although I did check around and they were the best price, and the workmanship is very nice.
It will be mounted to my Balaz adjustable. I will be putting in four more screws on the inside of the track to give it the additional support on the studs

What kind of finish is on the wood, and did you put it on or did they?

There is no finish at this point. I haven't decided on a finish yet.

                      Any suggestions from the forum?

The one I have mounted now, I used linseed oil and car wax, turned out nice.

I might want a litle more of the whow factor on this finish

Baird Bros Butcher's Block.... I knew it! They do great work, I've used them in the past for a kitchen island top. The price is not bad at all for that hunk of wood, just beautiful.

Are you setting up a second or replacing the 2 inch drum?

How's the vibration with this drum? I also have the Balazs platform but am having some vibration issues and was advised to go with a thicker drum. Any feedback around vibration would be helpful.

                              Thanks!
