Heavy bag/speed bag mounting

I have a 100# heavy bag hung with a rafter bolt on mounting.A few months ago I read an article where the author suggested using such a set-up would damage your home. As this hanger is mounted with wood bolts into side by side 2x8s I question this statement. Any feedback would be welcome.

Hi Fity. Welcome to forum.

You might post a picture or two to better let forum members see your setup. There's some pretty knowledgeable folks here but it's easier to understand if we can see how your bag is hung and the surrounding area. The lengh chain and swing area may also impact your setup.
