Funny stuff!

Pretty darned funny, ebo. You never let us down with your interesting take on things.

To answer your question about the s-hooks, I'm afraid I haven't been in the garage when he's working on them. But, I think it involves a vice... and some pliers, a paper clip, and some duct tape.

I do know that he is using 3/16" rolled steel. It's a smaller gauge than the standard hooks that Everlast uses. The S-hook, when finished measures 1-1/4"-1-1/2" in length (from inside the top loop of the S to the top of the bottom of the S). The I-bolt hole is smaller, and is tucked deeper into the brass ball, so it actually shortens the distance of the hang of the bag. Makes it go really f-a-s-t.

I have been getting some requests for pictures, so I have finally posted some pictures of the swivel on my Profile page: http://www.speedbagforum.com/forums/...hp?albumid=100

I'll try to get a few more shots posted in the next day or so.

In the meantime, thanks to all you great baggers who have taken the plunge, or should I say, taken "one step for a bagger, but one giant step for baggers of all kind."

This photo on Wikipedia says that Buzz Aldrin is unpacking experiments from the spacecraft, but what we can't see is the speed bag that he's punching on, but is blocked from view by his big space suit...

I sent you a PM and cant wait to hear back. I love the idea of a ball hook swivel being quiet! Thanks.

MsDee, The swivel and it's Deville "masterpiece" I hope you bring one to SB3. You just can't have to many swivels... Can't wait to 3.

I guess I'll have to wait and see how this first batch is received by the members who ordered one. If they pass muster, then yes, I will definitely be bringing swivels to SB III! Watching those videos of you, Justin and Donnie at the gym made me wish I were there...I love the speed bag gatherings.

to be honest i think thats impossible. here's the thing, when a bag is hit on a U-Bolt swivel, the bag makes a clean rebound on the drum whereas with a ball hook it doesn't just rebound with the drum. the hook on the ball makes contact with the case that surrounds the ball hook which is inevitable with a ball hook swivel. to make it possible you'd definitely need the plastic ball hook (much quieter than metal ball hooks) for this prototype and a way to make it so that the bag hits the drum before the hook can rebound against anything. thats the key. you'd have a ball hook swivel that sounds just like a u-bolt

well it fits my needs not to mention that scissorhands is a bible style puncher who mastered many of the biblical techniques in alan kahn's book all on the U-Bolt. they really do serve their purpose. plus i was just giving what was required to make a quiet ball hook. read that post again and you'll see that it makes sense for the situation
