Hey Vent. If your really want to keep baggin. I would try the super glue trick, and then tape the split together over the glue, and then over that i would put the last layer of tape around your hand, and over the first layer of tape, that should protect the super glue from busting loose for a while.

Take Care, and keep on baggin'

Aloe Vera Plant

I have aloe vera plants, and whenever I get a split in my skin, I pull off a piece and smear the juice of it in the crack and put a Band-Aid over it. I'm told that aloe vera can speed the healing. It's also great on burns. (This is a uni-sex lotion. )

You do know that one of the principal components of super glue is a form of cyanide?

But wasn't it created specifically for this purpose? I.e. as a non-stitches way to close wounds? Maybe that's urban legend, but that's what I've been told.

Yes I've heard that too, but I've been told by doctors that that's the reason why it isnt' used for that purpose now.

Heel Balm

The pad on the ball of my foot does this from MA training barefoot on a hardwood floor. I use this heel balm and it really work to soften/heal the skin. I tend to coat my foot, then put a plastic shopping bag over it, and then a sock. I would think you could do the same kinda of thing when at home. It works great for me. You could also "sand" the callous down like you would the bottom of your feet, with files, sandpaper etc but since it is already split it may hurt like heck........Good Luck
