Bag Man's in a Bind: Anyone Recognize this Platform?

Bag Man needs aid and comfort.

Attached are some pictures of a speed bag platform I am having restored. It’s design is similar to a platform made by Narragansett Machine Works (NMW). I do not believe it is a NMW product, however. My research seems to indicate that Everlast purchased NMW in the 1950s and started marketing its platforms; first under the Narragansett Gym Equipment brand and then under the Everlast brand. The Everlast platforms that I have seen are painted blue.

There is a spot on the frame where the paint is blue. The color of the platforms Everlast marketed looks similar to the blue on mine. I was curious if this was an Everlast product, perhaps prior to its buying NMW.

Two other thoughts were that it is a Medart product or perhaps a custom build.

Here are the pictures he is talking about: I've seen some old long screw hanger wall units, but have never seen a design like this one. The wood on the right appears to be layers of severals pieces.

Any ideas, Dutchman or Paranday...or anyone that might have a guess on brand, dates etc.

The wood is plywood about 3" thick.

This is definitely not a Narragansett Machine Co/ Narragansett Gymnasium Equipment Co. platform. Also does not look like the Medarts that I have seen pictures of. Can’t really see the whole platform in the pictures or how the drum mounts to the unit but that thing looks solid! I look forward to seeing that platform restored. Good luck!

No slight at all Alan, I am far from an expert. Just have an appreciation for boxing history (and speed bag history).

I've seen that adjustment setup someplace, and the company's name is at the tip of my tongue. It will probably hit me at when I'm not around the computer, or at three o'clock in the morning (which morning I can't say).
